Food Matters Live 2016

Following last year’s success, we will be organising International one-to-one meetings during the Food Matters Live event taking place onTuesday 22nd of November at ExCeL in London. Food Matters Live is a three day trade fair/conference exploring one of the most important subjects of our time: The world of food, health and nutrition. Over 300 exhibitors will be at Food Matters Live this year – organisations and suppliers driving innovation and improving the health and nutritional impact of food and drink.

This free matchmaking event is an opportunity for producers, manufacturers, research centres, universities, resellers and retailers to identify potential international partnerships and find out about innovative technology in the world of food, health and nutrition.

Enterprise Europe and Innovate UK would like to invite you to an H2020 Proposal Writing workshop led by an expert project evaluator on November 14th at the Admiral’s House Greenwich.  The focus of this workshop will be on writing for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials related calls (N&M) in H2020.  The aim is to help you start your journey and frame your innovation idea(s) into competitive proposals.  This training workshop is aimed at previous and future applicants in the UK.  We will be inviting active H2020 participants from the industry, academia and RTOs to ensure that expertise from every TRL level is represented at this workshop.

H2020 Survey

Subject: European study into University-Business Cooperation – Opinions sought

Due to its potential for positive impact on business innovation and skills, the European Commission has commissioned a wide-ranging study on cooperation between higher education institutions and public and private organisations in Europe.

Whether you have cooperated with universities or not, we request your participation to ensure its success and to be able to develop policy to encourage and support collaboration.  The survey is set to be the most comprehensive ever undertaken in Europe on this topic, involving over 3,500 universities and 1,000 businesses.

Businesses can apply for a share of £15 million to develop technologies to stimulate future products, services and industries.

SBRI Funding Competition: Metal Detection for Fast Parcels

Businesses can apply for a share of £150,000 to develop a device that detects metallic threat items in fast parcel depots.

Manufacturing and Materials:  Apply for Innovation Funding

UK businesses are invited to apply for a share of £15 million to work on projects that tackle challenges in manufacturing and materials.

Enterprising Britain Awards 2016

Category – Support for Exporting

The Enterprise Europe Network team at the University of Greenwich were very proud to be part of the winning Kent International Business team.

Kent International Business (KIB) is an umbrella programme bringing together support services, initiatives and projects which aim to help Kent-based companies export and access overseas business opportunities.  The KIB partnership is led by Kent County Council and includes, Enterprise Europe Network, UKTI SE, Chambers of Commerce, IOD & FSB Kent, higher education and professional services such as HSBC bank.  The project covers a large range of core and additional trade development services, including support services from partners such as UKTI and a variety of bespoke projects and activities developed by the partnership to provide overseas opportunities for local firms.

 

Investment Readiness Masterclass

An Investment Readiness Masterclass held at the iconic Buckmore Park kart racing circuit on September 21st 2016 attracted attendance by 25 local SMEs.  Organised by EEN in collaboration with Medway and Swale Councils, the attendees heard from the owner of local SME, Tillett Racing Seats, Steve Tillett on the trials and tribulations of raising the capital to purchase a brand new factory in Sittingbourne Kent to facilitate the company’s expansion.  A workshop then followed where Accountants Kreston Reeves and Lawyers Furley Page covered the financial, legal and tax aspects of how to make your company investment ready.

 

Company in Oxfordshire get an IP Audit

An innovative EEN Innovate2Succeed client working in the hydropower industry was recently awarded an IP Audit worth £3,000 by the UK Intellectual Property Office.  The award was coordinated by the local EEN Innovation Specialist, who worked with the SME to identify their suitability for the programme, assisted in filling out the application forms, evaluated the resultant report and took part in the subsequent Pro Bono review.
