According to PWCs ‘Global State of Information Security Survey 2016, 38% more cyber security incidents were detected in 2015 than in 2014 and the theft of ‘hard’ intellectual property increased by 56% in the same year. For small firms, becoming a victim of a hack or cyber breach costs between £65,000 and £115,000. Those worst hit will suffer up to six breaches a year and these costs multiply for larger businesses.
In recognition of the importance and impact that dependable cyber security has on business, the UK government has allocated £860m of investment in the National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP) to help protect, promote and grow the UK’s digital industries.
This event will help you to navigate the funding and development opportunities that are available for projects that enhance and embed cyber security in digital operations. Specifically, the event will focus on how SMEs can protect themselves, by drawing on the UK’s knowledge base to develop and exploit cyber security knowledge, skills and capability.
