The news announced by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in his Autumn Statement provides a springboard for the airfield site to flourish into a hub for high-tech businesses and as a result, provide up to 1,000 new jobs.
Rochester airport is part of the wider North Kent bid which was submitted to Government on behalf of the partners, Medway Council, Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, Maidstone Borough Council and other stakeholders, by the South East Local Enterprise Partnership (SE LEP) and Thames Gateway Kent Partnership.
